Can someone explain what are the different noises you hear little while after switching off the car? Also after keeping the car switched off for a while when you open the driver door there is a noise of fluid being pumped, same happens little while after shutting down the car. All these are normal, I'm just curious as to what the car is doing. Thanks
in your owners manual. but mostly, it's just the artificial intelligence living in the hidden recesses of your vehicle. no worries.
It is normal. These noises can occur up to a couple hours after you shut off the car, even if you do not touch you remote or open the car door. It talks a little about it in the owner's manual but I do not remember where in the manual or what the car is actually doing when it is making these noises. It's just kinda weird, but the Prius C is not like other normal cars!
Thanks... I know its normal but just want to figure out what is actually going on.. someone once said the coolant is pumped out to a special heat insulated container so that when you start the car again the engine warm-up happens fast. It would be interesting to know what makes it tick.. now don't take it literally and tell me its the sound of the engine block cooling down Ok will go through the manual to see what is mentioned there.
when you open the door, the brake accumulator operates. when you shut it down, correct about the cool an storage. a few hours later, it does an emissions evap test.
I don't think there is a coolant thermos on the 2015 Aqua, but I could be wrong. I thought it was only on the Gen II.
I don't know what the car is doing, but it is pretty weird when you go to the garage a couple hours after turning off the car and hear some quiet little noise or noises. It's kind of funny once you know that it is "normal" for our cars. It's like they have a mind or life of their own when you are not around.
