what do they do at 5k?

    what does the dealer do on the 5k service? I thought they rotate the tires, but my dealer didn't.

    Not much--refer to the warranty/maintenance booklet that came with your car.

    And that booklet says inspect the tires, rotate as needed. 5000 miles is kind of overkill for tire rotation: the object is to even out wear, every 10000 miles will do that just fine. The most practical time to rotate tires is when they're coming off anyways, for brake inspection or snow tire swap.
