Safety Connect is Toyota’s equivalent of OnStar or emergency notification. Probably an issue with the cell modem. It’s not critical to operation. (I assume you were pressing the SOS button?)
It means your car’s built in cellular modem is not connecting to Toyota’s response system. Most likely you have not paid the monthly subscription fee. It may also be dependent on 3G cell coverage and your area may not have 3G anymore. This may not be the issue if the system is capable of 4g service but the manual does not specify the cell technology it supports in a 2012 v. Clearly it means what it says, eg contact the dealer and they may be able to sign you up or may tell you, sorry, it’s outdated just like the Entune system these cars came with. A better solution is built into your IPhone if you have a recent model. The IPhone has emergency crash detection and automatic reporting built in. It also has emergency satellite comm ability that you can manually use when out of cell coverage.
Ok much appreciated I’m having a issue with it not going into Ready mode, I guess I’ll disconnect it as one of the issues. I’m working on running a diagnostic, to be continued
They were but I need to recheck. I have noticed that the green parking light isn’t lighting up as it is in that video. I tested it with the multimeter and its getting power and I just replaced the whole thing (2012-2015 TOYOTA PRIUS V START/STOP PARKING BUTTON SWITCH DASH BEZEL 55446-47070)
This parking symbol stays on for a few secs to mins after powering down and the accessory light blinks a few times ?
