I leased a 2014 prius v five model, mostly because I love the look of the LED headlights. But what is up with these daytime running lights? Standard halogen? Why? In the headlight assembly I see a pair of small halogen lightbulbs. I know for a fact that I see priuses on the road with LED daytime running lights... so upon further research the prius two has this. under the main headlight assembly are four LEDs. Why didn't the (much) more expensive prius five get this? I also have crappy looking halogen foglights and halogen highbeams. I just feel that if I pay for the "luxury" level five, I should get matching LEDs all around. Any thoughts? And no, I don't plan on spending extra money to do any upgrades.
Nope, because the OP stated they know that in the middle of their post above. The OP is just whining, because in their opinion, the level 5 optioned Prius v should have LED DRLs like the Prius hatchback, and LED foglights apparently so everything matches nicely. I say whining because they aren't willing to change anything like bulbs, etc. to make things better. SCH-I535
I agree, the Prius v, Five Model should have LED running lights as standard equipment. As far as matching LEDs all around, no such luck. Most high dollar cars with factory Xenon HID and LED lighting use a combination of lighting. Resulting in non matching (color, intensity) high beams, fog lights, running lights. I've spent a fortune in the past matching lights. My Plug In Advance has the LED headlights and I love them. My DRLs are LED also. Since I seldom use the fog or high beams, I don't see the need to match them with LEDs or for color. In your situation, I would retrofit the non LED DRLs to LED. Whoa, no compassion for a fellow Prius owner? I agree, he has a valid complaint regarding the non LED DRLs, that some lower Prius models come standard with. Asking for a "all" matching LEDs is only a wish. Best to check out options, and as a minimum, retrofit some LED DRLs. It's a easy fix to correct .
