If you accidentally slam on the wrong pedal is there any mechanism in the new prius that prevents a crash?
well, there is a collision avoidance system, but i'm sure a senior moment like that might over ride it
Theres quite a concern about dangerous "silver drivers" in Japan. Even some older models already have an "acceleration suppression" mode where it ignores (or at least strongly suppresses) stomping on the pedal in certain situations. edit: didnt help the prius at 28 seconds in though - probably too old? Some more background
