It's one of the couple dozen computers in the car; it's responsible for controlling things like the lights, door locks, windows, defrost wires ... general "body" stuff. I think it is glommed onto the side of the main instrument panel junction block (driver's side under dash, also houses a bunch of fuses). -Chap
