Hello everyone, I recently bought a 2010 Prius and the dealership said it was a IV. However I have a suspicion that it may be a III with leather seats. The reason is because there is no heated seats, which I understand comes standard in IV models. Where the seat heater button should be it is just a black piece of plastic. There is no touch screen navigation either. I am not sure if the rear view mirror is auto dimming. The VIN Vehicle Descriptor Section reads as KN3DU so maybe that can help out some. Is there a way to make sure what version I have? Glad to join the Prius community! Thanks, - Fish
2010 Prius Models and Option Packages | PriusChat Sounds like you have a Prius III with out the "navigation" package. Welcome to Prius Chat. All the best
Ask your insurance company/agent, they know exactly what trim level you have from the VIN number. That's how they set their insurance rates, whish is based on what equipment, and options, is on your vehicle.
After reviewing the information it seems the car was falsely advertised as a Prius IV. It is a III. That's what I get for not researching enough or asking enough questions before signing papers. At least my insurance will be lower. Thanks for the help!
It happens all the time. Most sales departments have no clue what they have. All they see is a Prius. Many are listed as "Touring" which are not just as they will be listed as one model when in reality it will be something totally different. There are many different packages and models to choose from and they vary from year to year. What really matters is if you like the car you have. As long as you are happy, that is the important thing. Best of luck to you
Run your VIN on Prius Owners Web Site and it will tell you what model you have. Correction: Toyota Owners
