I pack my lunch and love to sit in my new gen 3 (series 2), listen to the radio, eat my lunch and enjoy the solitude. In power state ACC, I can listen to the radio but cannot see the clock or operate the windows. If I switch to power state ON, I get these features and the bonus of half a dozen beeps. Then I have to cycle to OFF and ACC to return to where I was initially. This may seem trivial, but day after day it gets more irritating. Does anyone know if it's possible to configure the clock display and window controls to operate in power state ACC? thanks
If you press the power button twice without your foot on the brake, it goes into ON mode, which should do what you want.
Keep in mind that you are running off the small 12v battery. If you sit there long enough, you will drain the 12v and that will create a whole new set of problems. I usually have the car in the READY mode and let the ICE cycle when necessary to recharge the traction battery. You won't burn much gas.
Stream is CORRECT, however, this will power everything in the car as if the car was operating in Hybrid mode, but without the ability to regenerate the Hybrid battery, you're running primarily on the Hybrid battery. Your best bet would be to operate the car in the Hybrid Mode (put your foot on the brake and press the Power button), this will operate all the accessories and allow the Hybrid battery to be replenished as needed. Most generally, the ICE should not operate a great deal during your lunch period, maybe 3-5 times in an hour's time, and usually just for a few minutes, this should not drastically effect your fuel mileage. You'll have to use a watch or cell or mp3 player as the clock. Power windows always operate in IG-ON for most cars when starting up from OFF.
You eat your lunch in the car? Heaven forbid...what about all the crumbs you produce? I couldn't live with that. I have a difficult enough time dealing with those itsy bitsy pebbles that get tracked into the car from our shoes. I could never deal with food crumbs in my car.
