What vs How You Drive

    But, it seems that conventional cars may not reward driving technique nearly as much as a good hybrid.

    Case in point, on my first few tanks in the Accord, I was trying to be very smooth in the city, looking far ahead at lights, accelerating very gingerly, trying to time the lights. It doesn't make much of a difference.
    If you're in the city in a conventional car, too bad, your fuel economy is tanking immediately.

    I don't hammer the car around town, but any more, I don't bother at all to try to time lights, keep moving, letting off gas as much as possible. Not even worth the hassle.

    Buy a hybrid to save gas in city driving. Conventionals need to go bye bye. Sooner the better.
