Still has that new car smell after 8 months! ??is that normall?? Or is it the protection treatment I had done when new?
I would guess that "new car smell" is a combination of organic alcohols, esters, and ketones "boiling" off the plastics used in the car. OK I am old enough to recognize an older new car smell. Like early 60 and much less. It is very different more organic smell. Does anyone else have these memories? New Car Smell is different today that it was 40+ years ago. Anyone else? Do you remember Grandpa's new car?
yes the new car smell today is different than it was in the 80's 70's and the 60's and probably more toxic too. Way more plasticiers and maybe less contact adhesive smell (MEK).
My husband has had his 04 Accord for just about 2 years now. I swear to goodness every time I ride in it, it still has a bit of that 'new car smell' left. Or maybe my nose just associates the smell of leather seats = new car smell?????
my car still has that new car smell and this is after 18 months, 22,000 miles, and 14 spicy food spills.
