When I park the car and then sit and wait, there is an odd sound electronical sound from the dash 60secs after power off, and several click sounds on the on the side of the car at 90sec after power off. Any clue what the sounds are?
Relays, fans, the brakes you name it but they are all normal Prius noises. Did your owners manual come with a DVD? If so watch it there is a chapter on the Prius noises what they are and where they come from. I just noticed you were in Hawaii also, cool welcome to Prius Chat.
Now that will be an interesting chapter, I must have missed it. Sort of funny, at first I thought the sound from the doors at 90sec was a twig dropping or bird walking on the car, but then I noticed it always happened. I am just learning the car... Thanks! Yep a newby, will be living in Kailua. The H3 hill sucks gas on the way up, but the way down is nice!
I do not have to drive the H3 often but that was my first drive in my new Prius, and it proved it self to me on that drive. I bought my car from SAL but it was on SAW's lot so I got to drive it back to Waipahu from Kaneohe, a 20 mile test drive. I work up in Central Oahu so I have daily climb up either H1 or Kunia Rd., it does suck going up but it think I make it up when I go home headed down hill.
That drive does make it worth it! (I will get wise like the rest of ya too and get the super mileage once I learn the techniques from the videos on this board)
