What's this black cover for ?

    found it near my spare tire.

    At least you got a clue....mine was in the glovebox.
    I'ts the cover for the "emergency" hatch release. Find the hatch latch and put it back on. (Hatch latch, hatch catch, I like that!)

    If you look on the inside of the hatch lid, you'll see the hole that it covers.

    At the rear/front of the removable cargo bin....in the rear! :rolleyes:

    Yeah it looks like the cover for the emergency release. It actually attaches to the black underfloor bin so if you lift up the false floor and look down towards the rear bumper, you'll see a whole that matches the size of that piece of plastic. Insert the end with the two prongs first. (the right side of the picture you attached above). The one on the left is the release tab.

    Aha! I was looking at the covers, which appear to be the access to the license plate lamps.

    Really? I thought the licence plate covers are more square and wider than the picture above.
