I am an amateur car guy...I am wondering if the 16" rims will affect my turn radius? I don't want my tires to be rubbing up against my wheel well if I upgrade to 16"s
Toyota also increased the offset on their 16" wheel option to about 50mm. The offset is 40mm on the 15x5 wheels. I assume that this was to keep the wider wheels and tires tucked under the fenders. (Note that Toyota's spec for the track on a car with 16" wheels is 2cm less than standard.) They had to change turning radius to accomodate the extra tire width at the inside of the fender. If you use an aftermarket wheel with an offset close to 40mm then your turning radius won't change much assuming your tires don't rub.
