When do you really have to change the PSD ?

    From reading the manual the Prius is almost maintence free. Just change the oil and rotate the tire.
    I've heard that you really don't need to change the PSD that often , mybe at 60K.
    The 30K and 60K service is fluff. When they change the oil at my dealership they inspect the brakes and look for thing to sell. The bottom line is they sell service. So what is the real skinny on this stuff.

    ? In my opinion, you shouldn't have to change the PSD at all - that is well outside of what I consider regular maintenance.

    Isn't the PSD considered a hybrid component, thus falling under the 100k-/150k-mile warrranty?

    I don't think it is listed under that warranty.

    Looks like we should change PSD fluid at least every 60k miles.

    Ah, yes, PSD fluid. That would make more sense.

    Yeah, when I read the first post, I automatically think about the PSD fluid since the OP is asking about maintenance issues.
