why when i turn on the heat on auto mode why does the AC also turn on and then i have to manually shut off the AC ?
A/C doesn't mean cooling. It's the conditioning of the air. In the summer, that means cooling it through the evaporator. In cool weather, it's meant to dehumidify the air so that your windows don't fog up (Turning on the windshield defroster also activates the A/C compressor as it blows dry air towards the window).
