Is it normal for only the driver door to unlock with the fob on the 2008 model ?

Thank you kind sir for the quick response.
Aha, two presses, doh. Should have known, since the wife’s Odyssey does the same thing. LOL

There is a setting to change that behavior. I am not sure if it requires the dealer to change it though.

You can change it in the Toyota software I think there's a way to do it in the car with the fob and what have you You need the owner's manual or somebody here will come along that knows it in their head I turned all of my stuff off in Toyota software The beeps everything I possibly could and I remember seeing the setting where one press opens just the driver's door this is like if you're in the city and you're worried about a carjacker or some significant other or an estranged whoever now they can't jump in the car alongside of you and force you to drive to the bank or whatever If you hit the button twice then you're inviting all everybody to get in every door whoever those people may be

Ha ! This is exactly why my wife’s Odyssey does this very thing, I just didn’t correlate the two, but it makes perfect sense actually. The young man I purchased it from lived down in SanFrascisco which is very high crime.

The passenger door side will unlock all doors and the back.

To switch the driver's door from one door only to all doors you press the fob's "Lock" and "Horn Alarm" buttons for about 5 seconds with the car off. The car will beep several times and switch to open all doors from Driver's side.

Change back with same 5 second procedure.

    Verified above on 2008 Prius.

Third gen allows you to change, between drivers door only, and all doors (with single fob button push). Requires press and hold of two fob buttons simultaneously. Lock and unlock buttons IIRC.

For 3rd gen instruction is in Owners Manual, albeit well buried.

Gen 2 may be similar, not sure. Download and search pdf Owners Manual is best tactic I’ve found, for finding obscure info in those tomes.

Page 487 of second gen Owner's Manual, in the "Customization" section, says it's doable, but no mention of fob button pushes:

At the beginning of that section there's this notice:

Your vehicle includes a variety of electronic features that can be personalized
to your preferences. Programming these preferences
requires specialized equipment and may be performed by an authorized
    Toyota dealership.

To reduce wear on the electric door lock mechanisms I would set it for just the driver's door. Cheaper to replace a fob if the button wears out than even one of those little motors. Easier too.
