What I mean by "available" is that people can drop by a nearby dealership to test drive Prius Prime and choose one from its inventory. All WA dealers say "need to bring from Oregon" so it must be at MSRP with extra destination charge (and $1000 Toyota rebate this month in WA), and I need to decide without trying it. Does anybody know why Toyota uses such an interesting sales strategy, giving deep discount + huge rebate in East Coast states while virtually not available in some others? When will it be available in WA and other states?
Yesterday, I saw a demo unit at Magic Toyota's used car lot (Edmunds). You can go test drive it. Two new ones are expected soon at the new car lot. (Another was sitting in the back lot, but pre-sold.) Just over a week ago, Lake City (Seattle) had one unsold and available for test drives (I was offered a drive, but am not yet ready), and another coming in soon. I haven't yet checked back. But yes, all these are coming from sister lots in Oregon, so supply and choice are very poor.
