Do I just bring my other other KEY that is 'already cut' to the Home Depot and they will be able to cut the new key to match?
Anyplace that can make keys from existing ones can do it, it’s nothing special. If you don’t have another key then you have to go to the dealer to have it done. You need the key code or they can do it by the VIN. They might charge extra if they do it by the VIN
Just remember, that newer cars have a "chip" inside the black portion of your key that will need to be programmed to your car. So even though you can unlock the car, if the chip isn't sync'd to the car's computer, it won't start. I found this out the hard way while going from place to place trying to get someone to copy my key. Everyone was looking at me wierd and kept saying "no". They thought I had found/stolen a key and was trying to get a copy! It had been decades since I had lost a car key and needed one remade. I was completely clueless about the chip being inside!!
