where does the name PRIUS come from?

    Just wondering if someone knew?

    Toyota has a car called Venza out right now and I find it really hard to imagine they call it the same thing in Japan, bc the japanese language does not have a V sound they pronounce it as BENZA which means TOILET SEAT.

    Is the prius called prius in japan as well?

    Prius is Prius everywhere. It means To go Before or Go Before in Latin
