Hi there. I recently purchased a First Alert Car Fire Extinguisher, and currently it is stored in the trunk where I have a small Rubbermaid bin for my emergency stuff (like tire air inflater, first aid kit, etc). I would like to mount the fire extinguisher in the cabin area, where I an get to it in an emergency. Any suggestions where it can be mounted? And no jokes about "where the sun don't shine"... my significant other already used that line I have read other threads on this subject, but none have addressed the actual installation location in 2010 Prius. I also have access to the Velcro for Plastics, which is usable on an automobile plastic surface. Thanks in advanced.
Here's a short discussion on this subject from March '10. Although it is Gen II based, it should still apply: http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-ii-...re-extinguisher-installation.html#post1070252
Thanks GrumpyCabbie. The fire extinguisher fits perfectly in the upper glove compartment. Didn't think to try that...
Yep, I checked there, but I still could not visualize where it would be appropriate in the Gen III. Thanks.
A fire extinguisher fits nicely in the carpeted 'bin' area under the seat adjuster lever beside either front seat. Easy to access, and no rattles!
