To deter the catalytic converter thieves, I plan to install an alarm under the hood for motion sensors. Where under the hood can I tap the wires to the 12V auxiliary battery power so that the power to the alarm is not interrupted even when the car is turned off?

As was pointed out in that other thread, those two locations are unfused, so whatever circuit you push on there had better have a fuse of its own.
