Google or Yahoo? Microsoft or Apple? Coke or Pepsi? Honda or Toyota? Just thought i'd post this interesting tidbit here to go along with the "which company is worth more" thread... For the past few years, Millward Brown Optimor has released their list of the most valuable brand names - these are the companies that sell stuff based solely on brand name, and not necissarily on the actual value of the product. A good example of this would be Windows.... Jabs against Microsoft aside, their most recent list put Toyota in the #10 spot, the highest auto maker. Some other notable positions include Coke at #4, Microsoft at #3, and Google at #1! http://www.millwardbrown.com/Sites/Optimor...nkingReport.pdf Ignoring straight ranking, it's kind of interesting to look at the change over last year. For example, Google was up 77%, Apple was up 55%, and Microsoft was down 11%.
