I am a new owner and our Prius just passed 1000 at odometer. Hope I could get some information on the Torque application for our daily driving. Sorry if this is a real dumb question for experts out there, but I am just trying to get more knowledge and information on those new found toys (2014 Prius two + Mini Elm327 with Torque). After upload those Custom PIDs and disabled the reverse beep, what else I could do while reading those real time information out of Torque? What information should I watch out and why? So if you could share what you use the Torque application for and why (with some quick reason), I will really appreciate the information. Thanks
My use of Torque is with a Prius C, but the custom pid sets are more or less the same. I like to monitor temperatures, and anything that helps fuel economy. In no particular order, I measure: Coolant Temp Fuel Input HV System Indicator * Room Temp Sensor * Engine Speed * Engine Run Time State of Charge * MG1 temp MG2 temp Inverter MG1 temp Inverter MG2 temp Inverter Coolant temp A/C Consumption power * Temp of Batt TB2 Cooling Fan 0 I also have a virtual pid for fuel economy, derived from Torque's Trip Distance, and Fuel used (trip). This, plus the starred ones above, are on my main screen. I have looked at lots of others from time to time, like FR Regenerative Operation, and Batt Pack Current Value, but the ones above I like to regularly monitor. Lots of forum members have used scangauge for a long time, which does much the same things, so all their threads are useful.
