Any observations/recommendations re using one Octane over another? Not just fuel economy, but performance as well. I tend to baby a new car and have thus far been using premium.
Several threads on this already, and the consensus is that the car's designed to run or regular, so use regular. Some owner's have reported lower mileage running premium. Me, I just use Shell regular and get my 5% rebate in free gas with my Shell Visa card.
There are other threads already discussing this whole topic in depth, please use the search and continue the discussion in one of those threads.
I think the higher octane will give you less bang for your buck. Higher octane may have lower BTU rating. Anyway less explosive means less bang. http://www.state.mn.us/mn/externalDocs/Commerce/Gasoline_Octane_Facts_102902052227_OctaneFacts.pdf
