Using my iPad 2 with iOS 5.1, when I click/touch any article on the Prius Chat home page the expected full article shows up for a second only to be replaced by this ULR: http:// pagesinxt.com/?dn=web.asterpix.com&fp=PEiT3e8LGXPWt3oLtX6D7y0ixVm960%2BQS4thf5lF%2F5%2F2Im1k2bfg0pR3T8vyex20vtW6Vhbnpa%2FpOOfw30CJYg%3D%3D&prvtof=KScVOY6szOU7%2B%2BwYvHD2WRJdPFcSjSaI%2FHMnxn8QzQEEp1alq886Pr2Ww9%2FWlBPaJz3XWDLOAH2P7yhMLCFdb1%2Fdu7s%2BWbXYrSDENF92YPUoGxRjmlTwFC2tLTe%2Fdvjr&poru=MzwQcf7G3SHV0gdh%2Bk%2Fm718de3%2FdMDiuMrtG2du6ZuEQbdjSoI8u8Bn21zFutwMW5tQ%2FsfjE79WtG8L2DEsZS4Yu5Tcx0ANWXj8CPOH3vgM%3D&cifr=1&flrdr=yes&nxte=js]asterpix. com NOTE: I put spaces after 1st // and at end of ULR before the com to make it non clickable and to show how big and ugly it looks So I can't read the article in the brief second it is displayed. Can anybody reproduce this for me, or explain it?
Update: This redirect is still happening on my iPad, but not on my pc. Could somebody try to touch the title or "read more" link to any article on the home page of Prius Chat and post what happens?
I tried a 2nd iPad and it also redirected as before. I turned off the wifi and used the 3G connection to the Internet to test if it was something in my wireless router, and it redirected me as before. I tried on another pc in the house and spy bot malware protection warned me that registry settings were being changed when I first got to PriusChat.com. The reg settings looked like they were trying to disable registry edit and task manager. I got a little scared and shut down before I thought to get any screen prints. I'll try again tomorrow after some scans to check for viruses and malware. The good news is that I found a workaround. After I click/touch an article I can click/touch the x next to the URL to stop loading just as it is finishing loading the article and it does not redirect. So I got that going for me.
I'm getting the issue on a PC here, Firefox 11. Looks like the Searchlight plugin loads a script from another website and it appears that was hacked so that it injects the redirect instead of the expected behavior.
I am now getting the redirect on my 1st PC that did not redirect earlier. Puzzling for sure. In investigating the problem, I found advice from wrestling forum members to take out some code. I did find the code on the article webpage (when I stopped the page load before the redirect with ESC key on PC). Here is the code from the first article on the PC home page: <!--Start SearchLight--> <script type='text/javascript'> aster_cloud_id = '2423541'; aster_cloud_format = '300x250'; </script> <script type='text/javascript'> document.write(unescape("%3Cscript src='http://web.asterpix.com/media/js/searchlight.js' type='text/javascript'%3E%3C/script%3E")); </script> <!--End SearchLight--> It sure looks like what Politburo is talking about. Now how do we fix it?
I will try and check this on my iPad tonight. I'll also notify Danny to look into it. Thanks for bringing it up.
I'm on my iPad now and haven't seen the behavior. Can you give me a specific article or three you've clicked on that have sent you awry?
Looks like it is fixed. I'm not seeing the snip of web code I copied earlier in the articles anymore. I can view articles on my iPad now. Thank you.
Thanks for following up, Chazz. If you see this behavior again please repost. We try to run a tight ship around here.
