I just purchased a Prius IV with sunroof. I was driving down one of the streets in my neighborhood, and two cars were stopped in the middle of the street. In front of them were a pair of chickens in the middle of the road. They appear not to be able to decide whether to move to the left or to the right, and the drivers were being patient by not honking at them or trying to pass them. I pulled over to the curb, and thought at least I would try to take a picture of them. They immediately ran to my car and started pecking at my front bumper. One of them jumped and flew on to my hood, and then to my roof. Despite my trying to shoo them off my car. They finally jumped on the side of the road and then jumped over a fence presumably into their residence. I assume that because my car was still shiny, because it is new, the chickens were attracted to it, and because it was a hybrid, it was not making scary engine noises.
I have yet to see any claw marks on my car, which is why the chickens survived, and I did not try to catch them for dinner. The locations is in Encino California -- Magnolia Blvd between Petit ave and Rubio Ave
