Why do I keep receiving Alerts for new posts in a thread that I no longer watch?

    Why do I keep receiving Alerts for new posts in a thread that I used to have under Watched Threads, but since then no longer watch? How do I turn those off? I searched all over my profile settings for any alerts related to new posts or subscriptions but couldn't find the thread or setting to turn off its alerts only in any of these.

    If you post in a non-watched thread, it seems to mark it as watched again. I just go to the top of the thread and unwatch it again.

    PS, it does not show as watched until you leave that thread and come back to it.

    I tried re-watching the thread again, then unwatched it. That didn't work. I still get notifications, not email notifications, but the other kind the one with the green number at the top right of the forum webpage.
