Why is lower rear window tinted?

    My lower rear window on my 2008 looks like it's tinted. What is the purpose for this?

    They're all tinted, on both the Gen II and the Gen III.

    I'd guess to reduce headlight intensity when you look in your rear view mirror.

    I'm guessing it's to keep you from getting blinded by headlights on cars right behind you.

    Because you look through the top window at an angle, to make the view through the bottom glass similar it is tinted.

    And the reasons above.
