Just filled up at Costco in Warrenton, Oregon. Well, I can say for sure that the winter blend fuel is now in the storage tanks and in the Prius. Usually when I fill up when I return home in Seaside I have an indicated 65 mpg or so. When I arrived home it was only 57 MPG. I can tell that in the instant readout gauge was reading lower than usual. So average mpg's will go from 52 mpg calculated to about 47 mpg calculated. Also the price I paid at Costco was $3.889 per gallon for regular gas. I believe it is the highest I have ever paid for gas at Costco in October, which is the off driving season. I really feel sorry for the owners of the big land yachts that will now get 12 mpg instead of maybe 14 mpg's, thanks to winter blend fuels. The price also went up when it should go down for winter blend gas. It seems like we are living in a Bizzaro world, to coin a phrase from the Seinfield show.
$3.88? Drivers in California are paying $5 a gallon! LOL... Hard to feel sorry for you... Esecially cause on the Oregon coast you're never pressured to drive faster that 55mph... Rural Oregon is awesome! You're so blessed!
Prius' that get a bad tank of gas get really bad MPG... It's happened to me twice allready... Most cars aren't so bad when that happens, but Prius' can be terrible with bad gas....
