Just filled up with wet, windy, winter driving, 43.611 calculated, 46.7 indicated. In the summer it would easily be 50-52 mpg calculated. So, how much of a hit does the Plug-In take during the winter conditions as opposed to the summer. We purchased our Prius in May, 2009 and one thing I have learned in my 46 years of driving is the Prius simply loves warm weather, and takes more of a hit in the winter than any other car I have owned. Our 2003 VW Jetta TDI wagon, 5 speed manual, gets 52-54 mpg in summer and 50 - 52 mpg in winter a much less of a hit no matter how you look at it than the Prius.
probably about the same. and the ev takes a hit too. but with ev costing about half the price of hv, you get a sweet blend if you can plug in a lot.
