I have an interview on Wednesday for a position I applied for. The position would be a huge bump in salary & responsibility, but that's not the most important part.

If it goes well and they think I'm the right man for the job, my one-way commute will be cut from 49 miles to around 12.

Please keep your fingers crossed for me!

My husband has just encountered such a transition and he is no longer crotchety every day. I can attest to the mental and emotional benefits of such a shortened commute and do indeed wish you luck!

I wish you luck, & hope you get it. Though you do realize, of course, that this will not only cut your total fuel consumption, but will also reduce your overall MPG. ;)

(In March I went from a 30 foot commute to 35 miles each way... which is what motivated me to get a Prius in the first place.)
