I like the idea. Which is more environmentally beneficial, producing salad produce or turning the roof over to a meadow with wild flowers? Does a roof top garden help air quality and reduce drainage demands if it rains hard? Or does it cause weight issues.
since they are hydroponic greenhouses and not an open garden, weight is probably not an issue. and they will be using the estimated 1.8 million gallons of rainwater in the greenhouses, diverting it from stormdrains. don't think it will do anything for air quality.
