The first full day of spring 2010 . . . in the Dallas, TX area! El Nino has it in for my mileage this winter. I know this is normal for colder climate zones, but we have really had an unusual amount of snow this year.
So true - love the aerodynamic snow look, but the extra weight is bad - not to mention the visibility problem. That's my daughter's car now and she wanted to go to church (to hang out with friends of course) so we told her to just walk. It's only one mile, so she did. I think she needs to walk every time.
It's not a lot of snow if you can still see the car. As of Friday there was still a bit left up here. It's probably all gone now.
Nice picture and you have a great taste in color! Keep your head up soon it will look like this -- see my avatar
hmmm. Doesnt the car have a full body heater for such things? Thats wild. if it happened here in Central Florida it would make world news! Your Prius wants an indoor parking spot!
Wow. I don't think I'd ever hear where walking is illegal. In some parts of Chicago, though, it's pretty much discouraged. Especially after dark.
And up here in my part of Canada, spring has been here long enough that I took off my snow tires and put the (lack of) Integrities back on on Saturday.
If the car has the OEM (lack of) Integrity tires, I'd be more worried about (lack of) traction than a hit to the MPG And yeah, a mile is daytime walking distance unless you have to carry a load of groceries or something (or it is a mile down a high MPH road without sidewalks).
Interstates, expressways, certain bridges, nuke plants and areas near water facilities and other points that have been deemed to be security risks have been off limits for pedestrians for a long while.
