I've just returned from a trip to some nearby mountains and I just had to share this pic of the MFD on the first 35km or so of the journey. Needless to say there was a fair bit of descent involved. BTW. That is approx 1L/600km averaged over the six bars showing. This (600 km/L) equates to a shade over 1400 MPG US. If anyone is interested, this was recorded between Katoomba and Richmond Height, west of Sydney.
Yeah I snapped that pic pretty quickly and it doesn't show the whole screen. For those not familiar with the Australian display, it shows L/100km on the vertical axis, with major divisions of 2.5 L/100km. So basically on the display pictured, there is one 5 minute period with about 1L/100km, and the other five period of approximately zero. So I estimated about 1/6 of one L/100km over the entire 30 minutes, or alternately, approx 600 km/L.
Looks like you were also going downhill most of the time too though. Wish Toyota had a better graph for gallons/mile or liters/kilometer instead of the MPG, so misleading.
Try coasting and gliding like me with very few green cars and no hills I gotten 70 and 93 MPGs before until all the stop and go traffic lights I hit and the Avg MPG fell like a roller coaster Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
