It's supposed to represent "Beyond zero". But nothing is beyond zero and nothing creates an infinite fuel supply (as bz implies) just by fuelling w/electricity. Electricity roughly has 30kWh hours of energy when extracting for ac/dc & dc/ac double conversions, not even counting cost for transportation to get either fuel source to your tank/battery. So there's an Equivalency estimate the industry creates.
Currently the ionic 6, model 3, lucid are pretty close to a 3-way tie for greatest eficiency / miles/kWh.

This time it took an internal crisis from realizing Tesla had them beat on Ev production costs and faster EV market share growth than they planned for. Their designs are improving, but they'll be hampered by part shortages in the short term.
Parents went with American made SAS last year. Cheapest sneaker was $200 then.

There was a time after the iPhone came out that "i<anything>" became popular to the point of RIDDIKULUS:

Toyota showed excellent skill with incremental improvements in Prius and even expanding the line with variants. This is one area Tesla is lagging because between 2018 and 2025, Model 3 efficiency, the 'kWh/100 miles' did not improve. Other internal parts and assemblies did get mechanically better but not what costs the owner's to operate the car.

The eradication of the resistance heater (vs heat pump - thru its varying temperature/environments) certainly improved efficiency

Sometimes it is easy to overlook or underestimate a corporate structure.

One of the Pillars of the Toyota Production System is Continuous Improvement.

It has been over a decade since I last visited the Georgetown factory. Do they still have tours? Anything interesting in the visitor center?

Over the last 15,000 miles I've averaged about 4.65 mi/kwh on my 7 year old Model 3. So Toyota is many years behind still.

Not really. The Prius was the clear leader in low emissions and mpg for a 4-5 seater car for more than a decade and this led to being a sales leader. And the default car representing the best eco car one could buy. Nothing like their position as the industry laggard in EV sales.

They stopped tours for a while after Covid - I believe they have resumed a limited schedule. I would call before making any plans.

One thing you might enjoy that has been added recently - in cooperation with Kentucky Utilities, a massive Solar Field array has been added to a partially hidden acreage by the plant to generate electricity. It is so large that the Planning and Zoning added specific conditions so people wouldn't be blinded when they drove by from reflections - turns out the solar array absorbs most of the reflection.

Toyota also bought a huge strip mine reclamation area in Eastern Kentucky has helped built a massive Solar Production Facility there to offset energy costs
