Is there anyway to prevent the MP3 details screen information (song, artist, album) from disappearing when the car is in motion? It just dosen't seem to make sense for that to happen. If it's meant to stop a driver from being distracted they may as well get rid of the MFD altogether. Thanks in advance for any help on this matter.
Funny thing was it happened only on 2006+ models. For 04/05, CD-TEXT was available while in motion (only the RDS stuff got locked out)
Its not the litigeous society, it is a proven fact that driver distraction with telephones, radios, and etc. cause crashes. As a result, all motor vehicle manufacturers design their vehicle to reduce the likelihood of driver distraction. So don't blame them, the government, but blame your fellow drivers for behaving so badly while driving.
Good point. If people would behave, we wouldn't need interlocks on the distractions. We also wouldn't need locks on doors, or traffic cops. It's always a few that make it hard for the rest. Tom
Amen brother! At NHTSA we were always faced with whether the regulations that people wanted us to write were cost-beneficial for society, and we always lamented the fact that some drivers and vehicle users didn't read their owners manuals or big warning signs and etc. that manufacturers gladly provide. The result often is that you have to write regulations to protect the innocent from the few who don't take responsibility for the privileage of driving given to them by their state. It is frustrating as......f(ill-in whatever it seems impossible to achieve.)
