I know this question has been talked about previously but it seems a little different. I have a new 2009 Prius with 6 disc player. Sometimes it will display CD Title and song title and sometimes it won't, and this is with the exact same disc in the player. Sometimes the information will be there and then it will just go away. This seems to be the case with most all the disks I try. Any thoughts or recommendations? Thanks great forum.
Yes. The information is suppressed when you are moving. Toyota's lawyers don't want you to be distracted while driving. Tom
Thanks for the responses, I didn't notice this for a couple of weeks. I am glad Toyota is looking out for us. Whats crazy is with my Honda Civic with Navi I could always see the information and even program the navigation while driving.. I guess they have different lawyers Thanks
I mowed down a blind pedestrian while I was reading the message that told me that no message would be shown while I was driving.
What's really stupid about this, and really irks me is, the 6 little rectangles that get grayed out on the FOLDER LIST, are just like the 6 little rectangles used when in FM, (I guess AM too). But on FM, they stay lit, and each has usually 2 lines, top Station Number, bottom Station Name or Current Song. Yet they gray out the entries in the box on FOLDER LIST when moving, even though they would have only 1 line of text. Think the designers who came up with that were smoking something. I would love to do the speed-wire disable, except I don't like the side-effects, loss of some indications on the Consumption and also the Energy Screens. So I live with it. I wish someone could come up with a way that would defeat the graying out of this while in motion, without hindering anything else. Or, alternately, is there a way to reprogram the audio portion to display all, regardless of whether the vehicle is in motion or stationary? In other words, is there a way to make the audio think the vehicle is not moving, without making the MPG/Energy Diagram/Re-Generation computer think the car is standing still?
