What are the engine compatibility for a 2011 could I use a 2016 or have to use 2010 to 15

Also the engine runs but spun a bearing at 2160000 so not well and not worth repairing

I have a 2011 I bought for cheap and want to put a engine in it but I'm confused in if I can go with a newer engine I don't mind modify stuff but...
