I had to get new tires after 50K miles. The part number is DT004-02032-GY 185/65R15 for the tires the dealer put on the car. Are these the same tires that came on my car? I asked for the same tires. However, my fuel economy seems to have declined a bit. I am wondering if it has something to do with the new tires. Thanks
Losing a bit of mileage with new tires has been documented throughout the forum and is totally expected. For forum info on LRR (low rolling resistance) tires you can start here: http://priuschat.com/forums/toyota-prius-plug-in/100512-tire-information-prius-lrr-tire-tests.html
Those are the same Integrity tires you had when the car was new. New tires do momentarily lower reported MPG. Since they are new, they are a larger diameter than the old worn tires, so the car thinks it is traveling less distance. New tires also 'break in', so there is a real MPG hit as well as the mis-reporting.
