Hi! Bought a 2nd 2008 Prius and "Red" has Bluetooth/handsfree. My S10 samsung won't talk to "Red". Also, "maps" comes up on the screen but says not connected. I've followed directions in the manual for Bluetooth. Nothing. Of course the steering wheel controls do not work as no phone is connected. Help! We are the 2nd owner.
With regards to MAP, it's possible the vehicle didn't come with navigation. (I think later models years, they just left the MAPS button on the steering wheel whether you had nav or not because it was part of the same group of buttons for the bluetooth handsfree). I'm wondering if it's because the phone is too new? (e.g. your S10 has BT5.0 and the system works with BT4.2)
One of the easiest things to try is pairing with another phone. Preferably use both an iPhone and an older Android phone.
I would have thought the BT in it would be backward compatible. Seems the S10 has some issues on BT. Maybe this can help. https://thedroidguy.com/fix-galaxy-s10-bluetooth-connection-issues-1103152
Bluetooth solution! My Bluetooth and other apps failed a few years ago on my 2012 Prius V. I was able to regain calling, music, aux, audio jack, by disconnecting the multipin input from the head unit to the stereo and leaving the
Bluetooth cable connected to Harman alone will grant all hands free access again except navigation. Great solution.
Old post, in future try deleting existing paired handsets. System can pair up to 7 hand-sets. Delete all paired devices by momentarily pressing the key for 15 seconds. Try pairing again once this is done.
