I can’t find a good link to buy a spare tire for a 2021 Prius prime xle. Don’t want to carry a full tire I as use my trunk a lot . Anyone have good suggestions or links on what spare tire fits or link where to buy??! Thanks
i just carry a full size spare from a junkyard. It was a lot cheaper and you can go full speed as long as you want. Just my 2-cents
Either a 16” gen 3 or or 17” gen 4 temp spare rim’ll do. The gen 3 rim would be my pick, since with its spec’d tire it’s much closer to the 25” OD of 195/65R15 stock tire. Its item 42601-A here: https://www.amayama.com/en/genuine-catalogs/epc/toyota-usa/prius/ZVW30L/13501/chassis/4103 The spec for accompanying, temp spare tire is: T135/80D16 101M shown on page 566 of 3rd gen owners manual:
Yep, we had a flat in our 2017 Prius and was thankful she had the donut spare....but I wasn't impressed with the little thing....glad we didn't have to drive very far back home. So when my 2021 Prius AWD had the stupid "fix a flat" kit, only, I researched prices and found the donut prices were about $100 more than just buying a cheap full-size rim and tire so now just have a full sized tire in the back. If I need more room for storage in the trunk, the tire can, also, be stored behind the passenger seat, on the floor. (I keep the spare covered in a vinyl cover so the black rubber doesn't rub off on anything.)
