I just bought a 07 pkg #6 Prius. I tried the volumn speaker blank dance that every one on this site talks about but I can't get it to work. Did Toyota remove this from the current 07. I have the jbl with six disk dvd changer. Is it just for this unit. Has anyone else with the new 07 get this to work. I have tried over and over to make this trick work and nothing.

It does at least work for making nav orerride work the new 6.1 dvd in the 2005 and earlier Prius. Dave M.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(dmckinstry @ Mar 13 2007, 01:09 AM) </div> That won't work because the 2006/2007 is a different NAV than 2004/2005. The former has a higher resolution system. However, some in another thread are looking into trying the LOADING.KWI from a Highlander that has the same resolution system, but HAS the override function. But it may be only one bit/byte like they discovered for 2004/2005 from 5.1 to 6.1.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(DanMan32 @ Mar 14 2007, 12:10 AM) </div> I'll have to do a comparision of the two files for my '05. I have 4.2 and 6.1 now. I won't have time until about 2 weeks though. It'll be interesting to see how the LOADING.KWI files compare with those in the Prius. The md5sum for my 4.2 file is 32c92349f42b873ffed4b17eb1ef2eab and that for the 6.1 is 9faf44973e659cb3b763c5de60f29a84. If someone is looking at the Highlander file(s), I'd be curious about the results for them. Is there a difference in the loading file, or just in the data? They obviously aren't doing an integrity check (at least in terms of checksum) on the LOADING.KWI files. Dave M.
As far as I know, the Highlander still has the Toyota generation 4 navigation system (even in the 2007 model year), whereas the Prius was upgraded to generation 5 with the 2006 model year.
I thought there was a physical hack that can be done by shorting a circuit... (searching the site...) Try this post: http://priuschat.com/index.php?s=&show...st&p=326881
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(dmckinstry @ Mar 14 2007, 05:26 AM) </div> Can we get a look at the files by removing the dvd and sticking it in a computer drive? Or is there an interface? Any idea how to get to the Cruise Control software? Snick
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(MacDude @ Mar 14 2007, 09:47 AM) </div> You're right, you cut the speed sensor wire and install a switch. By turning the switch to OFF you make the car think that it's not moving. Turn it back to ON after inputting the information.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Snick @ Mar 14 2007, 02:52 PM) </div> Yep you can copy the files to your hard drive if you want. That's what I did when hacking the DVD (using instructions either in this or the or the Knowlege Base forum. I have no idea about the Cruise Control software. Others on this forum or the other might.
