I need to get the TOYSC1 ... anyone know where i can buy one today? I am in Dallas, TX. I went to best buy ... they were so stupid they didn't even know what I was talking about. They didn't know what the scc1 was either until I showed it to them on the shelf and explained to them what it was ..... geez I went to circuit city ... man that place bites..... it felt like it was less sophisticated then the wal mart. They must sell exclusively to people with zero technichal knowledge. I couldn't even find anyone to ask if they had it. the employees were all to busy on personal calls or stuffing their fat faces with fast food. I went to fry's ..... only one person even spoke english there.... and he didn't even know what satellite radio was.... he kept trying to show me the directv stuff..... geez.... and people wonder why are economy is in the toilet. I am worried about the future of mankind, as it seems like the IQ of the average american worker is about 45 these days. I am leaving wednesday night on a long car trip...so I would like to get this asap If i can't then i will just have to find it online..... anyone actually have them in stock? Any suggestions please...... Thanks
Read the thread... TSS-radio.com has them in stock. Mine was purchased a couple of days ago and is in transit as we speak. I HIGHLY DOUBT that you'll find it and get it installed before your trip. They were hard enough to find online, much less in a brick and mortar store.
actually, the preorder special was with dogstar and the order may be held up. does anyone have the special order code to get this deal?
Calls to DS in the last couple of days have gone unanswered when I tried. Hope that's not them hiding from people wanting to know where their orders are. Here's the link to the $49 price.
Re: Sirius Radio Questions TOY-SC1 now available See my post: http://priuschat.com/forums/audio-electronics/39623-new-sirus-satellite-radio-options-5.html I just got my TOY-SC1 from TSS Radio and installed it along with the SCC1 in my 2006 Prius. Works GREAT!! TOY-SC1 was $99USD and SCC1 was $29CDN.
I tried to get one from DS for $49 was gave up waiting for a reply. TSS Radio was the only company that had them in stock ($99). I have been waiting for months for the TOY-SC1 to become available, so when it was, I purchased it. Since I got such a great deal on the SCC1c ('c' means Canadian version), I was able to do the entire project for less than $150CDN, which was my goal. (and about $500 cheaper than the Toyota dealer or $100+USD cheaper than other Sirius kits on the market. The units allows for 16 presets and 16 character display (plus scroll for longer text). The audio quality if excellent compared to either the wireless or direct FM modulators. Install time using was less than an hour using the "glove box" method to access the back of the radio.
Yeah...I'm beginning to think that I was smart for actually ordering it from TSS when they got them in stock. I was going to return TSS's purchase when I got DS's, but now that's looking like it's not going to happen. For the last few days, I've noticed that dogstar's online chat was closed. Still closed today, so I call up to see if I can get an update...for the SECOND day in a row--the voicemail box is full. Not a good sign at all. Now I'm getting nervous that I gave them my CC number for the pre-order.
>>>For the last few days, I've noticed that dogstar's online chat was closed. <<< I spoke/ chatted w DS and they said it will be 2-3 weeks if you ordered earlier this week as they have more pre orders than they recieved. I was trying to order but you have priority as you pre ordered. Steve
Re: Sirius Radio Questions TOY-SC1 now available The eagle has landed. Sirius is now in the Prius. Just wanted to close out my own thread with a status update. Check out Kieran's and my own posts in the thread above. Cheers.
