Great option for a sub that doesnt take up much trunk space. Installed into this unit was a Rockford Fosgate P3. Its made for a truck but would be perfect in the Prius. It was INSANELY small...and packed a great punch. so instead of dealing with trying to fiber a custom 8" or other crazy options .. this might save time/money/headache... Rockford haters insert criticism here.. (i currently have a Alpine 10" TypeR..and it will be sad to get rid of.. but I cant give up that much trunk space)
It'd sit nicely behind the rear seats. It can be bolted down (beware of the battery!), or you could put a "stopper" on the top, so that the cargo cover beam can hold it in place, kinda like my sub
It's quite pricey. If we ever install any I'll report back with an opinion. In out cars though you could get better sound for cheaper if you simply sacrifice a little more room. It's not like we are driving a 1985 S10 pickup. lol
sweetness, will def consider that for "under seat" installation actually being that thin cant we just fit that on the extra compartment under the carpet in the trunk?
while bass is such a low frequency... that the placement usually doesnt matter.. It works on the science of moving air... so if you put it under the carpet - it doesnt move the air ..and you get crap for sound/bass...
The JL Audio CP 108G-W3V3 Sub woofer that I just got is about the same size. It can fit into the cargo space, or if I want it fits right into the floor pan in front of the rear seat. I can then fold the seats down for full access to cargo space. Also relieves constipation.
