I've got an '08 package 2, and I've noticed that the volume varies with the ambient noise level. When I stop at a stoplight, the volume declines, and when I take off it goes back up. Is this normal?
Cool, I figured it was normal. The fact that I have it is odd because I only have a package 2. In looking through the manual, I couldn't find anything specific to this feature.
It's called ASL, and if you look at the bottom of your audio screen, you see a little speaker with a little level meter icon. touch it to turn speed sensitive volume on and off and to adjust.
I have the JBL system in my car as well, and though I leave the ASL turned on all the time, I don't really notice a significant change. I still find myself turning the volume up when driving at higher speed. It would be nice if there was an ASL gain level adjustment...?
There is an adjustment, but I don't notice it doing much in my 2006 either. I wish it had more range.
