I love my new Prius and the navigation system is not bad, except for one thing. I hate the fact that it displays every freeway exit as I approach it. I have to continually switch back to single map mode. How do I shut off the freeway exit display mode?
there is a button on the map screen what expands. It looks like a V with a half circle over the top (if i recall correctly).. it's located in the bottom left of the map screen. push that and you'll get your heads up options. this ranges from full on map or map with editable map next to it. or turn by turns... not to mention you have a newer system.... so they may have changed it a bit.
I have looked at the Setup screen several times and dont see any option that has let me turn the freeway exit mode off. I want to permanently turn it off. What am I missing?
Is it trying to tell you to exit every time? If this is the case, then there's a setting for "avoid highway" that might be enabled. [Edit] Because we were apperantly typing at the same time. The setting is in the ROUTE settings (I think). If you're looking in the generic (4-page) settings area you won't find it. I think you go into ROUTE and then hit another one whose name I can't remember. In that screen, you can turn on/off tollways, freeways, ferry routes, etc. [/Edit]
it is showing me all exits and I only want to see My exit. I dont want to avoid freeways, I just dont want the screen to keep changing out of single map mode to show me the freeway exit. I want it to stay in single map mode unless I tell it to change. Is there a way to do that?
Thanks Tom - When it goes into split-screen, we use voice command or touch the icon to go back to single map mode. However, it goes back to split screen at the next exit. Is there any way to KEEP it in single map mode? (And yes, I did go into "Route Preference" and click on "Allow Freeways", so I don't think the problem is the NAV trying to get me off of the freeway. ) Any ideas...?)
I was irritated by the same thing and i DID get it fixed... i just can't remember the exact button presses... i think i turned off the split-screen when it was posting the highway exits by bringing up the menu at the bottom and tapping the full screen mode. i was able to make it a permanent change so don't give up!
