Shutting it off is exactly what you will have to do. Alternate workaround - keep it on FM until you really want to stream something.
It is definitely not something wrong with the phone, but how the Prius connects and fails to remember which phone it was last connected to last.

No it is periodic dropouts. Maybe the same thing. Completely annoying, FM is just fine especially in the car.
They timeout after you open the door. Default is 30 seconds and you can change it longer or set to 0.
