Mine groan fairly loudly when parking brake is engaged and I get in or out of the car. It's annoying but learning to live with it.

Oh..yeah...way over 400 miles to a tank. Who says a 2011 Prius Five with 17" wheels can't get good mpg? :) Although I'll admit I'll be filling up...

I could be wrong but mine sounded like from the engine area. But yes...it is an on and off again ticking/tapping noise.

Don't get discouraged. Even the Prius Five hatchback can get decent MPG. Here is a my last tank of my 2011 Prius Five hatchback.
