Looks like u need to change ur clockspring. It is a diy job and can take upto 30 - 60 mins depending on ur level of expertise and tools available...
Are the cooling fans working? Might be that he disconnected the circuit .
As i recall now, if i do it like this, coolant starts coming out of the ECT socket .
