Go to the standard size tire for your Prius, 185/65/r15 and your car will be less prone to hydroplane as it is a narrower tread than 195/60 /r15. H
She will be fine once over the Rockies if no codes appear!. I would think this sounds very normal for climbing the Rockies. Lots of horror stories...

The triple tread are LRR. I believe they are one of the best for not hydroplane? You must of had very severe conditions. H
I use Good Year Assurance Fuel Max and really like them! If your triple tread are wearing even and they are toast then Good Year will cover them...

It is not a big job to clean the mas air flow sensor inside the filter intake. Just insure you get the proper cleaner for this job. Do a search...
Try a new 12V and this maybe the cause. Remember the 12v runs the brains of the car without a good 12v weird things happen. H
